About the event
Trade and Cultural Ties FORT LOUDOUN STATE HISTORIC PARK FEBRUARY 27 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM Price: $5.00 Join Park Ranger Will for a glimpse into the days of Colonial trade. From South Carolina traders who led strings of packhorses across the mountains, to the Cherokee who harvested game for the fur trade, acquiring trade goods in return, we will explore the ways trade impacted both cultures. Along the way we will discover Abraham, a powerful heroic black man who would not be held back by the bonds of enslavement. During this program we will observe trade items, discuss trading laws and how they were often ignored, and trace the dangerous steps of an enslaved man as he risked his life to save others.
